Guidelines for Contacting Speakers

This page will list the Guidelines for Contacting Speakers who are iLUG-Cal members.
- Some speakers might expect to be re-imbursed for all expenses others might be happy with honorarium. Ask beforehand
- Provide on e-mail exact dates, time and venue of the proposed talk
- While doing the above provide a roadmap to the venue with nearest known locations
- Provide 1 primary and 1 secondary contact who will be the Point of Contact for the talk
- The slides are made using Open Document Formats, please do not insist on receiving them in Proprietary Formats
- The speakers might choose to provide the slides for the post talk notes, but there is no compulsion for them to do so
- The slides will be released under an appropriate Open License, please do not insist otherwise
- If the talk is being recorded, please try and ensure that the audio (or video) is released under an Open License
- The above audio (or video) should be in an Open Format (this sentence needs a FIXME)
- If you are planning to release an audio or video cast of the talk, do ensure that the speaker knows about this beforehand, and agrees to it. (FIXME - Sign a Release Form ? indradg)
