"Catch them Young!" is the goal and focus of iLUG-Cal.org's outreach program for schools. There are plenty of schools out there that need help. Help of different kind - from the donation of equipment, to setup of Free Software, to overall technology support, even into the arena of classroom teaching. For example, local language tutorials and not just about computers, rather any subject that can be taught in an interactive fashion using computers. A wide range of work is needed to reach out to these schools located in villages and suburbs.

Rather than wasting our time on semantics, we are focused towards the actions that speak for themselves. The dgplug has been doing wonderful work at Bijra high school under Kushal's able leadership, and with the support from Soumya, Subhodip, Ajitesh and others. Kushal is also a member of iLUG-Cal.Org. So, we have decided to lend our support to this ground-breaking, experimental work. We approached Prof. Ashoke R. Thakur, the Vice Chancellor of West Bengal University of Technology, and a fellow LUG-member for help, which has been promised to be arriving shortly.

We use this page to update the developments of the school projects and similar outreach programs.
